Ellen Oerlemans Public Affairs

Vision on Public Affairs and my services

  • At the heart of public affairs lies an outward focus. As an organization, ask yourself what are ongoing societal dynamics and pertinent political developments.
  • Grasp the significance of these external factors for the organization's success.
  • Proceed to determine how specific issues can be influenced, how public opinion can be addressed, and how obstacles in legislation and regulations can be resolved.
Advice on establishing the Public Affairs Building Blocks
  1. External Positioning & Profiling: What do I stand for, what is my (unique) ideas or solutions, what role do I aim to play and what responsibilities I am willing to undertake?
  2. Stakeholder Analysis & Engagement: Who are my stakeholders, do I know them and do they know me? What do they think of my idea/solution? Who are influential figures? What is the best strategy to connect with them and how can I convince them? Explore opportunities for collaboration to maximize impact.
  3. Tactics and Execution: Crafting a successful Public Affairs campaign demands a unique and creative approach to generate impact. Components are: Do I engage in personal lobbying or form coalitions. Which key individuals do I approach and when? How do I ensure greater awareness and a better reputation? What are my key messages?
